Pula is the first city in Croatia to measure air quality in real time on public transport buses
On June 10, mobile measuring equipment for monitoring environmental indicators was installed and installed on two Pulapromet city buses. The equipment consists of two mobile measuring stations that collect data on basic air quality parameters using public transport.
The purpose of setting up mobile measuring stations is to provide accurate information on air quality with the aim of implementing measures for environmental protection and improving air quality, as well as timely informing all interested parties.
Namely, the measuring stations will measure the following parameters in real time: temperature, humidity, pressure, NO, NO2, CO, CO2, PM1, PM2.5 and PM10.
The supply and installation of dynamic sensors was carried out by the company Smart Sense d.o.o. from Zagreb.
The City of Pula thus became the first Croatian city to implement equipment of this type on public transport buses, and taking into account that the project is co-financed by the EU, the City of Pula certainly represents a positive example and shows readiness to implement measures to reduce negative emissions into the environment and improve air quality.
This is the first of two parts of the UrbanMind project, which is co-financed by the European Data Space for Smart Communities program. The total value of the project is 3,000,000 euros, the funds of the City of Pula - Pola amount to 347,750.00 euros, of which 173,875.00 euros are provided for grants. The project holder is the Municipality of Kranj from Slovenia, and the partners are two companies Riko and 3FS, and the City of Pula-Pola.
